Week 24

Alright.... This week was a little slow… But here you go...
Lunes: Today we woke up early and cleaned the house and did our laundry. And the other Hermanas helped me in learning how to effectively wash my clothes here:) Then we went to Centro so Hermana Delgado could buy stuff before she goes home. She dies this transfer! *Gasp But it was fun. And we ate tlayudas for lunch with some other Hermanas in our zone:) Then we came home and rested for a bit and then went out to teach some investigators in their area.
Martes: Today we had our normal district meeting and took pictures with everyone. And we got to work in my area today:) We had comida with the familia Matinez andof course it was so good:) Then we went out to Hermano Hugo and taught him about pre-earth life and the creation. He understood it very well. Then we tried seeing if Belia and Julia had time for a lesson, but both of them were leaving the house and the daughter of Julia has denge, so she's taking care of the kids. So we went to our meeting with Hermano Pino... Or our fight with him... Ya we kind of got into an argument with our mission leader today. He doesn't think that we're working right and we're lazy because we aren't with the members as much as he wants. But he just doesn't understand that we have other key indicators that we have to do as well... Oh well...
Miercoles: Today we rested because Hermana Martinez got sick. She had big pain in her stomach and she couldn't work. So I studied a lot and wrote letters while she rested. Then in the night we went and taught one of their investigators about the Book of Mormon. She really felt the spirit in this lesson because she started crying and said it's an answer to her prayers. It was awesome to see that:)
Jueves: Today we started out with going to Betesda for Hermana Martinez and her sickness. Then we went into weekly planning... And I kind of got chewed out about the way I do it. With my past comps we've figured a way to do it with less amount of time, but doing it in the same effect as Preach My Gospel.... Yup.... But it's okay... We spent our day in the area of the Hermanas. We first went to comida and it was super good:) Then we went super far away and talked to a menos activo family and the importance of coming to church. But Hermana Martinez started to not feel good, so we started heading home while handing out invitations to investigators to our ward conference this week.
Viernes: Today we started out by going to a meeting for the leaders But since I'm not one I went to my area with a new missionary and we contacted for 2 hours. For comida we went to the bishop's house and the food was good:) But we were running low on time so we just went around my area and gave out invitations to my investigators. Then we had a couple of lessons in the other area.
Sabado: Today I woke up sick...:P..... To my stomach. So I rested for a while. And it was sad because when I felt better Hermana Delgado felt sick. Really sick.... We didn't leave until our ward pre-conference activity started. But we went and ate really good food and watched some of the activities. There was also a baptism going on, so we invited the investigators that came to the activity to watch it. And experience! After the baptismal ordinance the bishop of the ward holding the baptism called me over and asked if I could sing a musical number. Aah! I got to sing Divina Luz and the bishop played the piano. And it was fun because he added his own accompaniment :) After the baptism we tried to work, but Hermana Delgado was NOT feeling good. So we went home and she slept while we watched the Testaments in Spanish:)
Domingo: Woot! All of us felt healthy:) Ward conference was awesome! Everyone participated and we had David and Julia with her grandkids in church:) And we took a lot of pictures with the other Hermanas. Comida was with Hermana Erica and Humbeto of the other area and it was super good. True comida Oaxaqueña:) Then we tried visiting a few of their investigators, but none of them were home. We did find the same investigator that we taught about the Book of Mormon. We taught he how she can gain her own testimony of the gospel. Then we ended the night with a member who made us hot chocolate with pan dulce.
Alright now for transfers.....
I will be staying here in Reforma 2 and I will have my first Latin comp. Aah! Her name is Hermana Molina and she has maybe one more transfer than me so she's still a little new too. So excited:)
Alright. Now I need to go. But I love y'all and hope you're having fun. And don't forget. You have one more week to read 2nd Nephi. I know you can do it. And please. Send me any insights you get while reading. I'd love to hear:)
Love Always,

Week 23

Alright... This was a strange week...
Lunes: We had a really good P-Day. We were able to get all of our laundry, cleaning, writing, and buying done with tons of time to spare to lie down for a little while. We also saw Dr. Morales again. Then we went and taught Julia again and it was a little hard. We were explaining about prophets and she didn't exactly understand everything. Then we tried explaining that those who wrote the Book of Mormon were prophets too, but what she understood was that the Book of Mormon was just pieces of the Bible. So we tried explaining that to her that it was written by people here in the Americas. She still didn't understand, so we're going to keep working with her until she does. We then got to visit Hugo and taught him about the restoration of the church. It was so cool! He's spent this entire time thinking that Joseph Smith made the church on his own. But then we went to explain that he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus and through their power he was able to restore the church. He just looked up at us and said, “So what you're telling me is that this is the true church that I've just joined?”  We just smiled and said yes. Then he said the closing prayer and it was so powerful:)
Martes: Today we had our district meeting, a birthday party for Hermana Martinez, and interviews with President. He is so cool! Then we went home because Hermana Adelman wasn't feeling well. So we studied, rested. Then I stretched, maybe sketched, took a climb, and sewed a dress (If you didn't understand that.... sad....:)). We weren't able to go to our meeting with Hermano Pino, so the Hermanas from the other area came over and visited us and told us what happened at the meeting. We finally had ward correlation! And they brought us soup.... Because all we're eating are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches...:) We also got a sad call from Hermana Madsen that Hermana Adelman might go home... So sad!!
Miercoles: ¡¡TEMPLO!! I love going to the temple:) And this time I was awake the entire time:) And I loved having the chance to read my patriarchal blessing in the Celestial Room. It gives you peace:) After that we went home and heard from President about Hermana Adelman. He talked to the area doctor and he thinks that she need to go home and figure out what's going on, re-cooperate, and then come back. And she told me that she prayed in the temple about it too and feels at peace that it's right. She has such sweet faith it's insane:) But he also said that I'm having special changes because of it, so I have to pack my bags too. So we spent the rest of the day at home, resting and talking:)
Jueves: We immediately started packing this morning and cleaned the house. I wrote a few letters too. We also went out and bought chapulines for Hermana Adelman's family and tried to say goodbye to some of our investigators and members, but no one was home. Sad!!! Later that night the other Hermanas came over and visited us with Dominos and Boing:) For Hermana Adelman and also Hermana Martinez for her birthday. It was really fun:) And I found out that my special changes were with the other Hermanas, so I really only needed to pack for the week because I can pass my house anytime.... Gah....
Viernes: Today we woke up early in the morning to be ready to go to the offices. We had a member take up there and it was a really fast goodbye. So sad... But then me and the other Hermanas went to my house to pack stuff for the week and to wait for the garbage man to come. Then we went to eat and bought a birthday cake for Hermana Martinez from Tartamiel:) Then we went to teach a few of their investigators. And we got to see Eufemia and Hugo.
Sabado: Today we spent most of our time in the other area of the Hermanas. But today we got to see Eufemia and Edgar! He hasn't had alcohol since July 15! So great:)
Domingo: Church was really great and Julia came with her granddaughter! And I got to meet some of the members from Puerto Escondido that are friends with Hermana Martinez. We got to eat with the Familia Limon. And then spent our time teaching in the area of the other Hermanas.
You have 2 weeks left to finish 2nd Nephi!!

Week 22

This week went a little slow... Hermana Adelman got really sick again this week...
Lunes: Today we had a fun activity with the Hermanas in our zone. We went over to the church and played volleyball and stuff. And I played soccer for the first time!! I'll just say I actually did okay. Better at goalie though...:) Then we went home to do laundry, shopping, and letter writing. In our lessons today we were able to teach Hugo about prophets and answered a lot of questions he had. They were all basic questions that should have been answered in the beginning... Eeep! Then we went to teach Belia and we had Hermana Limon with us. And Belia was so excited to have us there! It was great:) We were able to teach her about the ministry of Christ and the fall of the church.
Martes: I totally woke up to my first earthquake ever... It was so cool!!!! I have no idea how big it was, but it was shaking our beds good and hard. But we had our district meeting that went really good. And we found a Beatles car... Pictures included... But we went home and finished our Progress form for Hermano Pino and then went to comida with the Ramierez family. It was super good, but killed Hermana Adelman. So we hurried and gave a mini lesson and left. We tried getting a hold of the mission doctor, Dr. Morales, but he wouldn't answer his phone until an hour later and said he was on vacations. So we couldn't see him until the following day. And the sister training leaders said to just go to a pharmacy for a consultation. So we went got some meds and a form to go do some more tests, then went home and stayed there for the rest of the day. But I got a good amount of studying down:) And later the other Hermanas came and visited us and told us how correlation went.
Miercoles: Today we went to Betesda to do the tests for Hermana Adelman It only took a few minutes and then we headed home. And she got some rest while I studied some more and caught up on my journal. Then we went and saw Doctor Morales and he checked Hermana Adelman's mouth and heartbeat and what not. Then he prescribed her some more medication and that she needed to get a hold of him when the tests are over. After that we went home, ate some pan Dulce, and rested.
Jueves: Today she still wasn't feeling good, so we stayed at home. I did some studying and what not while Hermana Adelman slept. Then we got antsy and went out on a walk around the block and got some self-serve frozen yogurt and ate it on our roof:)That view is awesome from up there:)
Viernes: Today Hermana Adelman felt good enough to work! We first went out to Hugo and taught him a little about the ministry of Jesus. He's so grateful for us for clarifying a bunch of stuff. He wouldn't stop saying that. He's really sweet:) Then we went to the Familia Martinez and taught them about Heavenly Father. Then we asked them if they could accompany us to our next lesson and help teach the same lesson... That's called the Double Play:) The grandkids came and we tried finding Marta and Julia, but no one was home. So we dropped them off and went to comida at this restaurant with really healthy food:) Then we went up to Loma Linda and taught Ufemia about faith and promised her that if she has faith and comes to church this Sunday she will have enough money and more for her rent. She's really worried about it... We also found a new family to teach who lives right next door to Ufemia. They are from a little pueblo outside of the city area of Oaxaca and are only here for a couple of weeks. But they want us to keep coming back and teaching them more:)
Sabado: Today we were going to go out and work.... Then Hermana Adelman got sick again.... I guess working for a full day after trying to rest for a week affected her a lot. So we had to stay in the house for today. We did go to Betesda to get her results for the tests she took... She's got a lot of bacteria in her... We couldn't get a hold of Doctor Morales again, so we went back to the pharmacy and talked to the same doctor about the results. He just told her that she has tons of bacteria in her throat and that it's going down and affecting her stomach. But he gave her a prescription (injection) to take and she could be better in 5 days. But we decided to wait until we got a hold of Doctor Morales to know if it was right to take it. So we went home and rested again.
Domingo: Today Hermana Adelman still didn't feel right, but she felt a lot better now that she had a few more answers that made sense for her body... Though she just wanted to go get that injection really bad... I kept telling her to wait... We went to church and Ufemia didn't come! We were so sad! But Julia came and she loved it:) Testimony meeting was really good and so was Relief Society. We learned about having charity:) Then we went home and stayed there because our zone leaders told us to. And we did get a hold of Doctor Morales. Oh my goodness! He was SO HAPPY that we didn't buy that injection. I guess it's just a VERY strong medicine and she doesn't need it that strong. So we jsut stayed in the house and read the Bible. I'm actually enjoying the stories of the Old Testament:)

Our little missionaries :)

The Beatles Car!!

Anyway that was my week. I hope yours was good. And I hope you're still doing that challenge to read the Book of Mormon. We were supposed to have finished 1 Nephi today. The next challenge for ya'll is to read 2 Nephi in three weeks. I know ya'll can do it. And please. I would love to hear any insights or anything from your studies. Love ya'll!!
